31st. On holiday.
30th. There's a new company in town, with a Masia (that's a farm house) for rent near Sitges. Their prices are excellent and it sleeps up to 12 people. They also have a yacht docked in Barcelona harbour that sleeps up to 7 people, for a very original way to spend a holiday, and puts you right in the middle of Barcelona's action. See their advert below, or check out their Web site.
The blog won't be updated for the next few days. (We're moving home) Hopefully we'll be back by Aug 3rd, but it may take a little longer. But we will be back, so hang in there!
Last note before I pack up the PC for my house move and twiddle my thumbs waiting to be reconnected - the Philidelphia lads in the 2 videos (see below), just wrote to tell me they'll be back in Sitges from the 6th to 12th of August. Wouldn't mind spreading them all over my toast! Hope you're gonna do some new vids for us guys - maybe a bit more nudity? ;-)
29th. We've got something new for you. Every Thursday at Pacha is Gay night - Called Bronxxx. Its a great club, and you'll be going into the first Pacha in the world! There's a free shuttle bus from Plaze España - the plaza at the bottom end of Carrer Parelladas. (The main shopping street). Tonight is of course the GBP at Atlántida disco. Theme tonight, Crazy Foam Party. See Discos
28th. They did it! Today is the inaugration of Parrots Sitges Sauna.
What a sporting time Spain is having! The world champions in Formula one, European Football champions, now the Tour de France for the third consecutive year, and we're just one match away from being the tennis champions. Go Spain!
27th. I've got a suggestion for somewhere cheap today. Its a new café in Sitges this year and for one thing, they do a superb cup of coffee for only 1.45€, which is one of the lowest prices in Sitges. Also one of the best pizzas I've ever had for around 8€ to 10€. The name is Cafè Sitges and they're located at C/ Sant Pau, 32, right next to two of our favorite restaurants, Monroes and the Beach House
26th. Since the cheap eating out subject stirred up so much interest, why don't we now try what one guy suggested and do an 'excellent meal' subject, which would of course be regardless of price. I'll start the ball rolling by saying I think Parrots Restaurant does excellent food. Send your comments.
My internet connection hasn't been cut yet (see 21st.), but its bound to happen any day now. I've tried my lap top and I can't work with it, so the daily blog will be vanishing few days soon, but stay tuned, it'll be back.
25th. Today and tomorrow, there's beach volleyball on Playa Fragata, here in Sitges, as part of the European Gay & Lesbian Championships in the EuroGames which are currently being held in Barcelona.
24th. Seems Pandora's box has been opened since the subect of where's cheap in Sitges was touched on - it's obviously an important issue and great to see so many of you sharing what you know with your fellow travelers. Seems Sitges is not so expensive as it may at first glance appear to be. Today there's no less than Five NewComments on the subject.
23rd. Phew its hot and going to get hotter! The hot air blast that's coming up from Africa is set to continue for at least the next 5 days. Expect temperatures around 35ºC (95ºF). Oh and in case you think I can't spell Phili right, I did it with an "F" because of a comment in the video - I'm not the bad at speling!
NewComment today.
PS. I'll be doing the 'budget page' soon, now that many of you have helped with some good low price options for eating and drinking in Sitges.
22nd. Part two of the Sitges video today (Down below). Very cute Filidelphians here during Fiesta Mayor last year. Lots of familiar Sitges sights in this one, and a bit of Barcelona too.
21st. After yesterday's rather intense blog, something light hearted today. I've added a video below that I think captures the spirit of Sitges quite nicely, and by coincidence, the lads are at Privilege bar (which I mentioned yesterday), at the end of the video. Part 2 tomorrow.
I'm moving home again. My new house is ready now, but it means I'm going to be internetless for about 10 days, from any day now. I'm going to try to keep the daily blog going from my lap top, but the thing is in a sorry state, with some of the keys not working, so hang in there if the daily blog does vanish for a few days. I will be back! If all else fails, I will be back online in my new digs on August 3rd.
20th. You know where is really happening in Sitges right now? - If you're young and sexy that is - Privilege bar. I went there with my buddy last night and we nearly came just from the view - sweeeeeet! (We like 'em young, Spanish and well hung) ;-)
Talking about coming up young boys arses, have you by any chance heard of AIDS lately?
I'm guessing that if you've been to the beach recently at night, you haven't. I just happened to notice last night that no one seems to know what a condom is anymore - and before you ask, no its not a salt and pepper shaker, its a goooey plastic thing that if you wear it on your head, doesn't actually suffocate you, but saves your life!
What is wrong with those guys? I know its great fun to get off your tits on drugs - its half the attraction of Spain, but the fact that the Spanish are drop dead gorgeous too (which is the other half), and only too willing to have a big, northern European dick, or especially a well formed cut north American cock slide up them, is no excuse for us to do it bareback.
Did you know, Spain has one of the highest HIV catching rates in Europe?
What's your opinion of today's blog? Its a very harsh one, but often the best way to get a point across is to shock.

19th. A little word of warning. I popped into Barcelona on the train the other day and when I got back to Sitges train station, there were police with drug sniffing dogs on the platform. (At least I assume that's what the dogs were for - I didn't stop to ask questions!)
Anyway, I mention it, because if you read this blog, you must be on something, and I wouldn't want my readers to have to suffer being locked up with a lot of shirtless, sexy Spanish men in a hot, steamy prison cell!
NewComment today, relating to yesterday's blog. Still need your help lads, with cheap eating out ideas in Sitges.
18th. We have a NewComment today, which has got me thinking, it would be a good idea to have a page with ideas for visitors on a budget, which considering the current Pound & Dollar to Euro exchange rate and the economic crisis (Is the plural Crisii?) in the UK, USA and here in Spain, I imagine applies to a lot of us. So guys, I need your help on this. I'm going to compile a list of the cheapest places to eat and drink and any other lower price solutions we can come up with. Please let me know of anything you know of, even if you think I may already know it. I can no more afford to eat out all the time than anyone else - like you, that's a holiday luxury for me too, so there's a good chance, you are more familiar with where to eat out on a budget in Sitges than I am. Drop me a line with your ideas.
We're forecast to move into a 4 or 5 day heat-wave starting today (though it felt to me like it started yesterday), so drink lots of water, especially if you plan to go out on the booze. Alcohol dehydrates you even faster. Only drink bottled water. The tap water quality in Sitges is very poor.
17th. Welcome to our newest advertiser. Apartment San Sebastiano. A beautiful holiday apartment in the centre of town. Glad to have you on board Kevin & Clive. Very best of luck lads. See their ad' on the Holiday Apartments page.
NewComment today.
16th. We have a new Matinée Group clothing store in Sitges. I'm sure you've heard of them, they're fairly well known in these parts! ;-) It will be on Calle Bonaventura, almost opposite Mediterraneo
NewComment today.
15th. Tonight is the 3rd Gay Beach Party of the season at Atlántida Disco. The theme is Disco Fever, with 70's, 80's, 90's disco music. Free shuttle bus from in front of the Calipolis hotel on the seafront where the gay beach is. Discos

14th. After the heavy rains on Saturday, Sunday was a perfect day. Hot, but not humid, and did it ever bring people out. The town was packed solid with everyone happily strolling along, enjoying the sights. Lots more sun in the forecast :-)
13th. The drum bands came out to play, and the heavens opened up. Everyone got drenched, but the bands had as much fun as ever, if not more and the streets were packed with soaking wet people dancing in the rain.

12th. Phew! What a scorcher yesterday. We got up to 36ºC. (97ºF) - Today is Sitges Timbalada. Drum bands fill the streets of Sitges, banging their trancy beats. Great to see and even better to hear. From 7pm they'll be parading through the streets of Sitges, starting at  4 differnt points and converging in Cap de la Vila, then going on to Can Robert Park at 9pm. Can Robert Park is a new park, which is reached by walking up past the Oasis Commercial Centre, under the railway bridge, then its on your left. There are 800 percussionists!
11th. I'm always telling you where to go. Today for a change, I'm going to tell you two places not to go...
I've never been in Pastafiore before, which is that big fast food joint at the beach end of Calle del Pecado (1º de Mayo), but last night we had an urge for a pizza, and just happened to be passing it at the time, so in we went for a pizza, which cost 7.50€ for a small (8") one. (That might be a decent size for a sausage, but its small for a pizza)
Anyway, How they have the nerve to call the thing they sold us a pizza, I don't know! They must have used a hydraulic press to do the crust, because it was no thicker than a piece of paper, to which they'd added a paper thin layer of cheese and a few shreds of meat, bringing the whole thing to a maximum 2 mm thickness, 3 mm where the bits of meat were. I kid you not. If you can't believe it could be so thin, don't take my word for it, try one yourself. Since I'm on that subject, you won't do any better over the road at Pan's & Co. I went in there a couple of years ago for my first and last time, because the so called 'subway sandwich' which cost 4€ (and probably costs more now), was so small, it would slide through the inside a bog roll. Could they both be the same owner?
No, I didn't get out of bed on the wrong side today. I just object to being so blatantly ripped-off.
10th.Beaking News! - There's a serious outbreak of Parrots in Sitges. They're everywhere!

9th. Thank you for all the emails I got about bike rental. I popped along to the locations you mentioned and got their details.
1. Sitges Bike - Oasis Commercial Centre, local 34. Tel: 938949458 - Web site
2. Viñola - Passeig Vilanova, 33-35. Tel: 938945255
3. Someone mentioned in an email that there's also one in Carrer San Sebastián, near San Sebastián beach.
Hey Steve from Switzerland, hope that answers your question for ya. I'll add the above to the Directory page so its always there.
NewComment today.
PS. Love the way the comments are flowing in this week. Keep 'em coming lads, on any subject you want.
8th. Tonight is the 2nd Gay Beach Party (GBP) of the 2008 summer season, at Atlántida Disco. The theme for tonight is Striptease & Live Sex. Advance tickets, which save on the door price, are available from Parrots Pub
NewComment today, which mentions bike rental, amongst other things.
7th. You may have noticed I've hardly talked about the weather lately. That's because for the last 3 weeks its been normal Sitges weather - hot and sunny all day, with lovely balmy nights. Yesterday we did have a heavy shower that came right out of blue, lasted for a few minutes, then it was back to the sun again. Love those showers on a hot day and that musky, but fresh smell that comes with them. Invigorating! (Either that or I need to get laid!) :-)

6th.Any of you who've been to Sitges in the last few months, can't have helped but notice the town is half under construction. You may have also noticed a lot of international companies are moving in. Until a few years ago, Sitges had a by-law preventing national and international companies from opening up shop here, which is why there weren't any before Burger King arrived 3 years ago, but my guess is that pressure from the EU has put paid to keeping them out. Sitges is even getting its own little financial district! The area around the Oasis commercial centre is filling up with new banks, including Barclays bank. Change is happening fast. Is it for better or for worse? What do you think?
5th. Next weekend its Sitges Summer Carnival. Many of the bars tart themselves up with carnivaly stuff and the barmen dress up in drag. A camp time is had by all. July 11th, 12th, 13th.
4th. Happy Independence day USA.
Its Trailer disco's 28th anniversary party tonight.
Its only a rumour, so don't quote me on it, but there may be another gay bar in Sitges soon, where the Chinese restaurant opposite Orek's bar used to be. I heard the rumour a little while back, then yesterday I saw someone gay I know going in there and they have gay disco and bar adverts on the door, so its looking quite likely that its more than just a rumour.
3rd. Open for brunch daily (except Mondays), or just pop in for a coffee. From 11am to 2pm, you can try Monroes great home made breakfast and brunch menu. Great food, great price and always a super friendly atmosphere.
NewComment today.
2nd. Last night was Atlántida disco's first gay night of the year and what a superb night is was to party in the open air. We had a low of 21ºC last nigth. Every Tuesday from now until September is the Gay Beach Party night. Don't miss it, its a lot of fun dancing under the stars. See the Discos page.
1st. Now its officially over 700 visitors a day to GaySitges.com!!! - And that's just plain rediculous!
Where on Earth are you all coming from? Those numbers wouldn't surprise me if it was a guide to a major city like Madrid or Barcelona, but so many visitors to a fishing village is quite incredible! Thank you lads, it means the world to me that this web site is so popular. My heart and soul go into it and I hope you get something out of it too.
Talking about big cities, I am going to be visiting Spain's Las Vegas in August, so I'll be doing a huge update to that guide, with lots and lots of photos. Its 25 years since I was last there, and it was in fact my first ever time in Spain, and what made me want to live here. I suspect its changed a bit since then.
Talking about staying power, its Trailer disco's 28th year this year, which was (as they say) the first gay disco in Spain, but I have to wonder, 'cos I remember going to a gay disco in Benidorm 25 years ago, and I'm sure it wasn't new when I went. Maybe they mean its the oldest 'running' gay disco in Spain? I'll have to find out.
Talking about first's, did you know that Sitges Playa del Muerto was the first gay nudist beach in the world? Bet Santiago Rusiñol was there ;-)
